photo archives

The Nassau County Photo Archive Center increases public knowledge of and access to the Nassau County Collection of historic photographs, glass plate and film negatives and postcards.  Our collection features images spanning the 19th and 20th century, between the 1870’s through the 1970’s. The works of notable Long Island photographers as well as family photo albums and historic family collections are included in the archive.

We welcome visits and viewing by residents, students, researchers, and anyone interested in the pictorial history of Nassau County, from farming communities of the 1800’s to the growth of suburbia during the 20th century.

The Nassau County Photo Archive Center is open in our Visitor Center Tuesday-Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
